The client is a US-based fintech company creating a cashback membership product for businesses and their customers. The platform connects providers that run branded loyalty programs with consumers who track rewards and withdraw earned cashback through a web-based experience.

Problem

The client had an initial product direction and early system flows, but the product needed a clearer structure before it could support real-money cashback operations. The main challenge was to turn separate provider, consumer, transaction, billing, and payout flows into one manageable financial product structure.
The platform also needed clearer role separation, reward visibility, payment-event logic, and mobile-responsive access. Without that structure, the experience risked becoming difficult to manage across user roles and financial workflows.

The solution was structured as a mobile-focused fintech web platform with separate provider and consumer experiences. The work included product architecture, UX/UI design, and custom web development, with the product logic defined around how users, rewards, billing events, balances, and withdrawals should interact.
Stripe and Plaid integrations supported subscriptions, payment-related workflows, financial account connection, transaction tracking, and withdrawals. Because the platform handled real-money rewards, the backend was structured around transaction validation, append-only ledger principles, idempotent webhook handling, and withdrawal guardrails to reduce the risk of duplicate credits, incorrect balances, refund-related errors, and payout issues.
