About the client

Understanding our client: specifics, challenges, and custom solutions

The client operates a France-based sneaker and shoes price comparison platform for online retail shoppers.
The product helps users browse sneaker models, compare prices, check size availability, review merchant offers, and navigate to online retailers for purchase. Its operating model relies on accurate product data, up-to-date pricing, regional market support, merchant information, and a catalog structure that can handle brands, sizes, colors, delivery options, payment methods, and multilingual content.

Problem

The client needed to manage a sneaker price comparison platform where product accuracy, price freshness, size availability, merchant details, delivery options, payment methods, currencies, and regional market settings all affected the user experience.
The main challenge was handling product and pricing data from multiple online retailers in a consistent way. Merchant feeds could differ by market, language, currency, sizing system, connection type, file format, and product data structure, making it difficult to keep the catalog reliable without a controlled data management process.
The platform also required clear rules for identifying brands, products, SKUs, colors, sizes, images, prices, and merchant offers. Without a controlled data management process, incorrect or incomplete data could affect product visibility, price comparison accuracy, filtering, search, and user trust.

Solution

A custom sneaker price comparison platform was developed with two connected parts: a consumer-facing website for browsing and comparing sneaker offers, and an administrative environment for managing the catalog, merchants, markets, feeds, imports, SEO content, and product data.
The public website allowed users to browse sneakers by brand, category, product model, size, color, and price, view product details, compare merchant offers for selected sizes, and navigate to online retailers for purchase. Product pages displayed key comparison information, including available sizes, merchant prices, discount prices, shipping details, payment options, free return indicators, and related product recommendations.
The administrative side supported structured management of brands, merchants, markets, languages, currencies, delivery methods, payment methods, products, sizes, colors, images, prices, promotions, blog content, and static SEO pages. This gave the client a controlled way to manage both the catalog structure and the content needed for a multilingual price comparison platform.
A major part of the solution was the product feed and import workflow. Merchant feeds could be configured by market, language, currency, sizing system, connection type, file format, delivery/payment methods, and import frequency. The system supported automated and manual imports, feed parsing rules, value extraction, product identification, SKU handling, size recognition, color recognition, image processing, price creation, import logs, rollback, repeat import, and CSV export for import analysis.

Key features

Project features overview: essential enhancements and strategic solutions

  • feature

    Brand and Merchant Management

The admin environment allows the client to manage sneaker brands, merchants, logos, publication status, merchant details, free return settings, multilingual descriptions, SEO fields, and merchant authority rules. Brand and merchant records also support the product import logic, helping the platform keep product data connected to the right retailer, brand, market, and catalog structure.
  • feature

    Market, Location, and Feed Configuration

The platform supports regional market configuration for merchants, products, prices, languages, currencies, delivery methods, and payment methods. Merchant feeds can be configured by market, language, sizing system, currency, connection type, file format, feed URL, delivery options, payment options, and import settings, giving administrators control over how retailer data enters the system.

  • feature

    Flexible Product Feed Processing

The system supports merchant feeds from different data sources and file formats, including configurable CSV structures, separators, compression settings, and connection methods. Administrators can define feed parsing rules, filters, value extractors, text cleaners, and field mapping logic so product data from different retailers can be normalized before it becomes part of the catalog.
  • feature

    Automated Product and Price Import

The import workflow creates and updates product-related data from merchant feeds, including products, colors, sizes, images, prices, discount prices, currencies, conditions, and merchant deep links. Imports can run manually or automatically, with statuses, execution details, error counts, repeat import, rollback, and CSV export available for monitoring and analysis.
  • feature

    Attribute Recognition and Catalog Structuring

The platform includes recognition logic for brands, SKUs, product models, colors, sizes, gender, shoe style, condition, images, and prices. This helps organize imported feed data into a structured sneaker catalog with product pages, size-specific availability, merchant offers, filtering data, and product comparison information.

  • feature

    Scheduled Imports, Search, and Filtering

Administrators can configure regular import runs to keep prices and availability updated across merchant feeds. On the user side, shoppers can search and filter sneakers by relevant catalog attributes such as brand, model, size, color, category, price, availability, and merchant data, making the comparison experience easier to navigate.

  • feature

CMS, Multilingual Content, and SEO Management

The platform includes content and SEO management tools for static pages, brand pages, merchant pages, blog posts, promotions, home page blocks, and multilingual content. Administrators can manage titles, descriptions, SEO text, meta titles, meta descriptions, localized content, and promotional blocks to support both user experience and organic visibility.

Result

Performance Showcase: Unveiling the Results of Our Collaborative Endeavors

The client received a structured sneaker price comparison platform that connected the user-facing shopping experience with controlled backend data operations. The system gave the client a foundation for managing merchant feeds, sneaker catalog data, prices, size availability, market settings, multilingual content, SEO pages, promotions, and product comparison logic from one administrative environment.
By combining feed configuration, automated and manual imports, product recognition rules, import monitoring, rollback, repeat import, error logs, and CSV export, the platform made product and pricing data easier to manage across multiple online retailers. This helped reduce dependence on manual catalog updates and created a more reliable process for keeping merchant offers, product pages, and comparison data organized.
The platform also created room for future expansion across additional merchants, markets, languages, currencies, promotional content, and SEO-driven catalog pages. As a result, the client gained a stronger operational base for running a niche e-commerce price comparison product with more control over data quality, catalog visibility, and user-facing product information.
