The client is a Switzerland-based product owner with deep experience as a frequent traveler and aviation enthusiast. The product was designed for passengers, pilots, and aviation-focused users who want to keep a structured record of their flights, travel history, routes, aircraft, airlines, airports, and personal statistics.
The platform concept combined personal flight logging with travel analytics, map-based route visualization, profile management, community interaction, and premium functionality for users who need more detailed flight records and statistics.

Problem

The client needed to turn a personal flight tracking concept into a structured web platform where users could log flights, manage travel history, import existing flight records, and explore aviation statistics without relying on disconnected tools or static spreadsheets.
The main challenge was to support complex flight data in a user-friendly way. The platform had to handle routes, airports, airlines, aircraft details, dates, times, photos, custom fields, historical imports, profile settings, premium access, and community interactions while keeping the experience clear for both general users and aviation-focused users.

Solution

We developed a custom web-based flight tracking and travel analytics platform with user accounts, flight log management, profile settings, and a structured data model for flights, routes, airports, airlines, aircraft, dates, times, media, and custom fields.
The platform included flight import workflows for users migrating historical flight data from external flight log services, templates, or personal files. The import logic supported recognized flight log sources, template-based uploads, custom file uploads, field matching, validation, and post-import notifications so users could bring existing flight history into the system with less manual entry.
To support analytics and visualization, the system included interactive map and globe views, route visualization, statistics, rankings, and summary views for airlines, aircraft types, airports, routes, registrations, countries, and territories.
The solution also included subscription-based access logic, Stripe-powered payment flows, premium feature restrictions, data export options, user messaging, following, sharing, and administrative tools for managing users, content, and platform activity.
